In the summer of 1946, Ella Raines got some newspaper coverage for her hair. For her new movie coming out that summer,
White Tie and Tails, Ella Raines showed off a "new vogue": two-toned hair. While blonde highlights are extremely common these days, back then it was something to be talked about. Different newspapers featuring a photo of Ella Raines with her "gold-and-brown coiffure" had somewhat contrasting opinions about this new hairstyle. The first image below presents the hairdo in a positive fashion whereas the second image refers to it as "bizarre".
